Business Development Manager

To support the Irex business development initiatives in the mechanical insulation field by nurturing current accounts & developing new customers throughout the United States & Canada. The Business Development role requires close cooperation with the Irex field offices in identifying potential opportunities & initiating the appropriate follow up, leading to an increased market share & continued growth. This role reports directly to the Director of Business Development, with strong interaction with Construction Services & the Area/Branch Managers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Identify & monitor mechanical insulation & industrial services opportunities through client contacts, professional resources (Industrial Info, ENR, etc...) trade shows, field offices & professional referrals
Manage/monitor customers through proprietary database; must keep current
Manage/monitor individual contacts as they are re-assigned or change companies during career growth
Manage/monitor upcoming project opportunities
Keep field offices appraised as information is received
Coordinate with field offices in completing & submitting pre-qual information in a timely & professional manner; Coordinate efforts with Safety Department
Remain current with 3rd party Pre-qual Services , such as IS NetWorld
Attend industry events & conferences, as needed
Participate in networking opportunities with vendors, clients & industry professionals
Schedule customer office visits/meetings, both existing & new, conducting sales presentations with the emphasis on services provided, reputation, safety record, competencies & professionalism
Entertain existing & new customers, include field office personnel as appropriate
Assist in branding & advertising efforts, obtain feedback when available; make recommendations as appropriate to help maintain a fresh & relevant content in our websites, brochures, advertisements, trade booths & social media efforts
Monitor industry trends, track shifting markets & research new opportunities, making recommendations as to what measures need to be taken to effectively respond to these changes
The position requires communication, presentations, customer service, sales & client entertainment
Education, Training & Experience
High School Diploma, required
Five (5) years of Industry Knowledge
Strong organizational, planning, verbal & written communication skills, a must
Ability to collect, assemble, enter, graph & analyze data, a must
Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel & Word
Strong logical, critical thinking & customer service skills, a must
Must be a self-starter, outgoing, personable & willing to travel extensively
Experience with closing skills, meeting sales goals, high level of energy & professionalism, a must
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure & meet deadlines required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
